Bella Vista is a city located in Benton County, Arkansas, United States. Originally established in 1917 as a summer resort destination, Bella Vista has undergone significant transformation and development over the years. In 1965, it transitioned into a retirement community and, after much debate and a vote by property owners in 2006, officially became an incorporated city.
Following its incorporation on January 1, 2007, the newly formed city government assumed responsibility for the police and fire departments, maintenance of streets, trash removal, and various other municipal functions. Bella Vista is situated north of Bentonville and Rogers, within the Northwest Arkansas region. Bella Vista School Districts
Students residing in Bella Vista are enrolled in one of three school districts. The majority of students from the eastern and central areas of the city are part of Bentonville Schools. A number of students located on the far eastern side attend Pea Ridge Schools, while those on the western side are enrolled in Gravette Schools.
